Meet our Pastors

Pastor Dennis Evans

Pastor Evans currently serves as the Lead Pastor of South Banks Community Church. Ministering full-time for 42 years, Dennis has led youth, music, and creative arts ministries across various churches in North Carolina, Virginia, and Alabama before coming back to his hometown of Morehead City in 1999. In 2005, circumstances brought it about for South Banks to be planted under Pastor Dennis' vision, and God has proven his faithfulness again and again ever since.

Dennis received his B.A. in Christian Ministries from Emmanuel College in 1980 and his M.A. in Film and Television Management and Production from Regent University in 1992. He has been married to Lydia for over 34 years, and they have two adult children and one grandchild. If you can't get a hold of him, he's likely kayaking into the bay, riding his bicycle, or listening to worship music.

Pastor Don Wolford

Pastor Don is our Associate Pastor. He resides in Havelock, NC, with his wife, Ethel. He received a B.A. in Christian Ministries from The Cincinnati Bible Seminary and he received a M. A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwest Christian College. Mr. Wolford has been a licensed, ordained pastor for many years, and he is also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. His passion is found in the scripture text of Colossians 1:28: “We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.” He tries to fulfill this through working both with married couples and with families.
