South Banks Community Church Leadership

South Banks Community Church is blessed to have a leadership team who are dedicated to Christ and accomplishing His will. Following are some brief bio's of our leadership team and their qualifications for ministry.

Dennis Evans

Lead Pastor

Pastor Evans serves as the Lead Pastor of South Banks Community Church. Ministering full-time for over 40 years, Dennis has led youth, music, and creative arts ministries across various churches in North Carolina, Virginia, and Alabama before coming back to his hometown of Morehead City in 1999. In 2005, circumstances brought it about for South Banks to be planted under Pastor Dennis' vision, and God has proven his faithfulness again and again ever since.
 
Dennis received his B.A. in Christian Ministries from Emmanuel College in 1980 and his M.A. in Film and Television Management and Production from Regent University in 1992. He has been married to wife, Lydia, for nearly 40 years, with whom he raised a now-grown son and daughter. If you can't get hold of him, he's likely kayaking into the bay, riding his bicycle, or listening to worship music.

Vicki Simpson

Music Ministry Leader

Music has been a lifelong passion for Vicki.  

She began instrumental music at the age of 10 and continued through her studies in Music Education at the Morehead State University.   She has taught K-12 music, written musical drama as well as songs for worship and special occasions.   She especially enjoys working with vocal and instrumental praise teams as they prepare for times of worship.   Vicki is married to David and together they share 5 children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.  The desire of her heart is to love others to Jesus through her life and her music.

Pam Kaiser

Head of Greeters & Special Events

An congregant of South Banks for over a decade, Pam serves as the head of both the Greeters and Special Events teams, organizing and overseeing special events at South Banks. With her expertise and attention to detail brought from many years as owner and operator of Pam's Specialized Catering and Desserterie, she ensures that these events are well-planned, enjoyable, and memorable for everyone involved. With her help and organization, South Banks is proud to gather through soecial celebrations throughout the year as one family in the Lord!

Sandra Silman

OCC Ministry Coordinator

Sandra Silman is our Operation Christmas Child Ministry Coordinator.  

Sandra is a longtime South Banks member, taking on the OCC Ministry position over a handful of years ago.  The OCC shoebox ministry has always been a very active and successful ministry at South Banks since the church was planted.  Sandra has led multiple fundraising events, donations and prayer, South Banks has been blessed with funds to pack and ship over 2,500 boxes to children around the world.   Sandra also actively participates in KidsMin and VBS teaching.
